At the Coworkers of Christ Institute and Seminary (CWCIS), we welcome students who seek formation in theology, ministry, and spiritual life within a community that values prayer, scholarship, and service. Whether you are discerning a call to ministry, pursuing advanced theological study, or simply deepening your faith, we invite you to begin your journey with us in a spirit of openness and reflection.

Step 1: Contact Us

Your first step is simple: send us an email at info@cwcis.org introducing yourself. Tell us a bit about your background, your current situation, and what draws you to study with the Coworkers of Christ Institute and Seminary. You are also encouraged to ask any questions you may have about programs, formation, or admissions requirements.

Step 2: Submit Your Application Materials

Once initial contact has been made, we will invite you to send the following materials, either electronically or by postal mail as appropriate:

Personal Information

  • Full name
  • Mailing address
  • Telephone numbers (home, work, and/or cell)
  • Email address

Résumé or Curriculum Vitae

  • Include your employment history, educational background, references, and relevant ministry or volunteer experience.

Personal Statement: Your Faith Journey

  • A reflective essay describing your spiritual and religious background.
  • Share the story of your faith, what has shaped your spiritual life, and what has led you to this point of seeking theological or ministerial formation.

Statement of Goals and Intentions

  • A written statement outlining your hopes and expectations for your chosen academic program.
  • Explain why you are considering enrollment at CWCIS and how you hope to live out your education in service to Christ and the world.

Identification and Verification

  • A recent photograph (3×5 or larger)
  • A photocopy of a valid driver’s license or other official photo ID
  • Your Social Security number (for verification purposes only; all information is kept strictly confidential).

Additional Documentation

  • Permission from your religious superior, if you are under such authority.
  • Copies of educational transcripts.
  • Four letters of reference — three personal and one clergy reference.

Step 3: Application Fees

A non-refundable $50 application fee is required with submission of materials. If you are applying for life or ministerial experience credit or for transfer of academic credit, please also include a non-refundable $150 portfolio evaluation fee. All fees are to be paid online through our secure payment system.

Step 4: Confidentiality and Next Steps

All personal and identifying information will be handled with strict confidentiality and maintained securely in our central records. Nothing will be shared with outside parties.

Upon completion of the application process and approval for admission, you will be assigned an academic mentor who will walk with you throughout your program—guiding your study, prayer, and vocational discernment in the spirit of the Coworkers of Christ.
